Yep, we’re all sunburnt from being out in the sun the whole day. We had a great time with all of you guys out by the beach on Sunday! In fact, we had so much fun we had a video made to remember the day! See how much fun we all had, watching airplanes and getting fit.
Have you read the papers today?
If you did, you may have come across a huge photo of our instructor Shuyi chilling out on our SURFSET board – SURFSET Fitness is featured in the Style & Beauty section of today’s Today newspaper!
Here’s another media mention to add to the list! Lifestyle Asia wrote about SURFSET Singapore as a way to get your adrenaline pumping.
It’s an article about getting excited for new challenges and switching up an exercise routine, or as we like to say, shake up your workout! We’re not the only ones listed – there’s Katapult Trampoline Park, which sounds real bouncy, and Bodytec, which sounds electric. We gotta get our SURFSET Fitfam to go try these out one day!
About SURFSET, the article touches briefly about why SURFSET is great for you. We found this quote particularly interesting.
those that are concerned about developing a bulky build needn’t worry; as a result, members are long, lean and strong.
Thanks for noticing, Claire.
Calling all mummies! Read this article!
Mummyfique just ran a feature on SURFSET Fitness, and in particular, on our instructor Shuyi. Shuyi’s a new mum (not that new anymore, if you ask us), and we’ve all seen her fitness journey with SURFSET through pregnancy and into motherhood. She’s an inspiration to our SURFSET Fitfam, and it’s great to see her recognized by Mummy-centric publications like Mummyfique! Read more
Mummy! It’s over!
Once again we brought our boards out-and-about, this time to a big exhibition hall in Suntec Exhibition and Convention Centre. We were there for Asia Xpedition, a sports and travel fair focusing on adventure. We thought it was a great way to do many activities in one day – at the fair you could do archery, climb a rock wall, bounce on a trampoline, pole dance, ride on a bmx bike, and shoot rubber balls out a paintball gun. Awesome? You bet.
Of course, you could also hop on our boards and start sweating!
We got a pretty big booth at the event, with enough space for five boards, and a little stage for the instructor board so that we could hold classes. We also made a nice little backdrop with our logo so people would know who we are, and take photos in all sorts of cool poses. It looked like this: Read more
SURFSET Fitness got out and about again! This time, it’s not the laid-back beach vibes with bikinis; instead, we got busy at Orchard road!
As part of their regular editions of The Gallery Experience, Mandarin Gallery hosted a fitness event called Featherlight, which is a weekend of fitness sessions with a musical theme. See our previous post for more information on the event and what it’s about.
They call it a light-hearted fitness marathon weekend. A marathon, indeed, but only if you had signed up for every single session. We had SURFSET taking the head- and tail-ends of the days, with morning sessions at 10.00 am and evening sessions at 5.30 pm. Read more
We recently gave an interview to Malaysia Airlines’ inflight magazine, Going Places. In it we spoke about SURFSET (of course), bringing SURFSET Fitness to Singapore, the benefits, and the types of classes. We thought it was a great way to cover some of the basic questions we frequently get from people, the press, and inquisitive bystanders. Here’s the full transcript.
What is Surfset and why bring it to Singapore?
SURFSET Singapore is Asia’s first studio offering the unique SURFSET fitness programme. Located in a historic shophouse in Joo Chiat, Singapore’s first heritage town, SURFSET Singapore promotes a healthy active lifestyle through unique exercises that are challenging, fun, and safe.
Have you seen our website lately? Don’t be silly, of course you have – you’re looking at it now! Then you would know that we have an all-new website, totally redesigned to give you better information.
Our favourite part of the website is probably this part right here, where we go on and on and on about all these things we love – new stuff to attend, challenging ourselves and you, and just plain blabbering like what we’re doing right now.
Enjoy yourselves, and do make yourselves at home. Like something? Dislike something? We’re always listening. Let us know!
Have you seen our newest Surfset flyers with our new tagline?
Yep, everything is harder on the board. Or for the Instagram folks, you may also say #harderontheboard. As you can see, it features our instructor Shuyi in a seemingly impossible pose atop the board. Sometimes, the problem with our instructors is that their level of skills just makes everything look so easy. I can assure you – it’s not. Come try it out in our studio today!
