It’s October! For all of those who had set their alarms on 1st October – WAKE UP! September has ended!
Now that September’s ended, it’s time to get ourselves out of our mass hibernation and what better way than getting into some comfortably uncomfortable positions on an uncomfortably comfy SURFSET board!
Remember our tagline – everything is harder on the board!
This month’s Challenge Poses:
- Wave Runners
- Side Plank
- Reverse Plank
Remember – we’re always here to help if you want to attempt any of these poses! Or all. Preferably all.
Have you seen our newest Surfset flyers with our new tagline?
Yep, everything is harder on the board. Or for the Instagram folks, you may also say #harderontheboard. As you can see, it features our instructor Shuyi in a seemingly impossible pose atop the board. Sometimes, the problem with our instructors is that their level of skills just makes everything look so easy. I can assure you – it’s not. Come try it out in our studio today!
It’s September! *cue Green Day
But don’t go sleeping yet! Sleep is important for overall well-being, and we really do love a good night’s sleep, but to sleep an entire month just seems like a ludicrous notion. There are so many things to do! So many sights to see! So many things to get challenged by!
This month’s challenge poses are officially seeking challengers! Warriors and triangles, to be exact.
These yoga poses aren’t that complicated, but remember that everything is harder on the board. Read more
Had a great time with our Lorna Jane Fit Challengers! As part of the LJ Fit Challenge, SURFSET Fitness Singapore gamely hosted a challenge class for some LJ Fit ladies.
The LJ Fit Challenge is all about embracing active living. We thought – we’re pretty much proponents of that too! Working with activewear brands has always been intuitive for us, because while it’s important to be comfortable in our own skins, we also believe in the importance of being comfortable in our own clothes. In the quest of fitness, exercising and expending energy is only half the story – the other half’s in what we consume. Just like the little naps after hitting the snooze is the best sleep, snacking has gained a reverence among us as an oh-so-tasty forbidden fruit. Fear not! Here comes Made Real, a healthy snacking alternative. Their snack boxes are full of goodies that are sourced for good nutrition.
Guess who was in the studio? Kelly Latimer, one half of the sisters on Sister HIIT, had a SURFSET Fitness session with our instructor Shuyi for the Sister HIIT production!
Sister HIIT is an original production on FOX Sports, introducing time-saving HIIT, or High Intensity Interval Training. Hosted by Kelly Latimer and Barbara Latimer, and by FOX Sports Central host Hansen Lee, Sister HIIT goes through different HIIT programmes for you to follow in your own homes. They also explore health, diet and fitness tips with experts in every episode.
In the programme, Kelly is the one who takes on the more advanced HIIT intervals, and it’s Kelly who came on down to SURFSET Fitness. Read more
Our new video is up on Youtube! It features our instructor Shuyi describing the SURFSET Fitness workout method, and talking about the different class types. You can also spot our instructor Natalie in a pool of sweat! Instructor Gillian’s not featured in this video – why? Because she was behind the camera! We have a very multi-talented team. Thanks, Jill!
Also, a big thank you to everyone else who was part of making this video. For more videos, take a look at our Youtube Channel.
If you’ve been listening to 883 Jia FM, you would have heard of the regular advertisements of the upcoming adventures of the Good Morning Show crew, and how they were inviting people to call in to join in a super fun session of “陆地冲浪”! That’s Chinese for “dry land surfing”.
If you haven’t already guessed, they were talking about us! Yes, 陆地冲浪 or dry land surfing is none other than SURFSET Fitness! Surprise!
The Good Morning Show on 883 Jia FM
